Add a Tie Bar for a little pick me up in style and class. Your first question might be what a tie bar is? Well, the practical answer is that a tie bar holds your tie in place by tying your neckwear to the front of your shirt right over your sternum, between the third and fourth buttons.

When looking for a tie bar, you may notice that there is a difference in widths that can range from half an inch to three inches. Generally speaking, skinny ties work best with tie bars between 1 to 1.5 inches across, while broader ties work better with clips greater than 1.5 inches across. A good rule of thumb is that if a tie bar extends further than the tie’s width, go with a different option, visually the clip should spread around 3/4 of the way across your tie.
